For a year now the 'My Computer' section of Windows Explorer will keep randomly popping up for no reason. I've tried virus scans with Malwarebytes and Avast! to see if a virus has been doing this however it said that my computer had no threats. Does anyone know what could be the cause of this?

You do mean Windows Explorer?  If so, to see My Computer in it is no surprise depending on just where you are exploring.  I frequently see My Computer in Windows Explorer and have since I first got my computer in 2004.
