Dell Studio XPS 435T Windows 7 Professional 64 bit hard drive is on the way out. Created recovery media. new retail WD 1 Tb sfc /scannow comes back with errors. Tried tweaking.com v2.10.0 it did not fix all the errors. This is the second attempt at getting it going, last new hard drive went bad bout 2 months after building it. I don't know much about the regristry and how to fix it. I'd try and attach the CBS log but it's too big. Is there a way to figure out the problems and fix it.

How do you know that your hard drive is failing?

If that's true...then trying to "cure" such is bound to be an exercise in frustration with no benefit coming.

Louis

The OE hard drive would start up in check disk every time. Windows updates didn't work and it just wasn't working right. Tried to clone it it failed, Ran check disk and repair hoping I could get a good system image, no go.I ran seagate dos tool checker hard drive failed as I expected it would. Bought a refurbished HD from Ebay, it failed the long format. Failed seagate also. Ok, bought a new HD from BBY, same thing, failed the long format, and seagate. I was using another computer to format them. I got the replacement WD, had downloaded the recovery media, new hard drive formatted just great, loaded the recovery media, did the updates, restored the back up and it worked flawless for 2 months. Then one day, wouldn't load the OS. Ran seagate, failed. Ra'd the HD, got the new one, formatted great, put the recovery media in, after 8 hours failed twice 0x4001100200001005 common dell failure, the recovery media was junk. Had burned 2 sets, loaded the second set, returned the new HD to out of box. Ran sfc /scannow and came up with registry errors. Ran tweaking.com that's where the first log is from after attempted repair. Now it's all done after doing the proper power reset getting ready to go back to that computer and post the logs.  You bet this has been an extreme pain. Either I got real unlucky with the new HD's or the computer is eating them.

No need to close it.

But, if you can keep us posted in 2 weeks, I'd appreciate it.  I'm moving topic to Internal Hardware forum, since system hardware is in question, IMO.

You might want to edit your shortcut to Windows Repair (All in One) it does not work...

Thank you for letting know about the bad link.  I've changed the link to one I know works.

The Windows Repair (All in one) link had a problem, I changed it to one which works.
