Anyway, I've run adaware personal and spybot search and destroy. I've also altered my startup processes with autoruns in safe mode to eliminate unnecessary backround processes (as much as a novice really can anyway >.<) But have been unable to solve this problem in particular, and there are probably others. The real problem is the random pop-ups I get, they seem to happen more when I open a program or if a program has to load something, but that could be my imagination... anyway, here is my HiJackThis log, thanks in advance.

Hello,

I've also altered my startup processes with autoruns in safe mode to eliminate unnecessary backround processes (as much as a novice really can anyway >.<)

This is a bad idea; because you're hiding it from your hijackthislog as well. Bad entries need to get deleted, not disabled.

I notice that you do not seem to be running Antivirus software and a Firewall. This is somewhat suicidal in today's digital world.
That's why I want you to install them first!!

AVG, Avira OR Avast are good FREE antivirus.
Never install more than one antivirusscanner or firewall on your system! Several together can give problems and decrease the reliability of it seriously!
Zonealarm, Agnitum Outpost Free OR Kerio are FREE firewalls.

Understanding and using firewalls

Please perform next in the right order..

* Download DelDomains.inf and save it to your desktop.
Rightclick on it and choose 'install'.

* Download Combofix.zip
Unzip it to its own folder.
Read here how to unzip/extract properly.
Open the Combofix folder and doubleclick combo.exe
Follow the prompts.
Don't click on the window while the fix is running, because that will cause your system to hang.
When finished, it should produce a log, combofix.txt. Post this log in your next reply together with a new hijackthislog.

Alright, I've done all of that. On a side note, the reason I had to turn stuff off with autoruns is so that Ad-aware could remove it since it said that it couldn't since it was currently in use. I was getting 50+ processes opened up at startup due to command.exe and netmon.exe, anyway that isn't a problem anymore. Here are the combofix and HJT logs, begining with combofix:

I think I should also mention that last night I got impatient and took actions to clean it myself, I downloaded and ran ewido and brute force uninstaller in accordance to another thread where someone had a similar problem. Even with all that and running combofix I still have some popups.

Ok,

Let's clean up a bit more first...

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.mrfindalot.com/search.asp?si=20065&k=
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = http://www.mrfindalot.com/search.asp?si=20065&k=
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {E5E2A3E7-00FE-4D31-A030-A10799DDCA66} - (no file)
O8 - Extra context menu item: &MyToolBar Search - res://C:\Program Files\ToolBar888\MyToolBar.dll/MENUSEARCH.HTM
O16 - DPF: {09F1ADAC-76D8-4D0F-99A5-5C907DADB988} - http://systemdoctor.com/download/2006/cab/...FreeInstall.cab
O16 - DPF: {5526B4C6-63D6-41A1-9783-0FABF529859A} (mm06ocx.mm06ocxf) - mk:@MSITStore:C:\DOCUME~1\Stacy\LOCALS~1\Temp\mma.chm::/joysavsht.cab

* Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.
Make sure your Internet Explorer is closed when you click Fix Checked!

*Please download the Suspicious File Packer from here:
http://www.safer-networking.org/files/sfp.zip
Unzip it to the desktop and run it.

Paste the following bold part into the Suspicious File Packer window:

C:\WINDOWS\vrikq.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\wnsapitr.exe

Allow SFP to pack the file. This will generate a CAB archive on your desktop. Please email the file to:

miekiemoesATmalware-research.co.uk

remember to replace the AT in the above line with an @
(the reason to not post a complete valid e-mail address in a post is so spammers can't harvest the addresses)

Please set your system to show all files.
Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

Delete next files and folders:

C:\WINDOWS\cfg32p.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\VSL05.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\VSL03.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32ftuninst.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\x3cqp0.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ftuninst.exe
C:\WINDOWS\up9.exe
C:\Program Files\Common Files\fmiz <== folder
C:\WINDOWS\pf78.exe
C:\WINDOWS\recife.exe
C:\Program Files\Windows <== folder, make sure you don't delete any similar looking folder, the one you have to delete contains the file WinUpdate.fld and WinUpdate.exe (since you already used Brute Force Uninstaller, the Winupdate.exe may already be gone)

Next is a littlebit more advanced to remove. Not because it's being stubborn, but because it uses names of legit folders and files to confuse users.
Delete next folder:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\??crosoft <== will most probably look like microsoft.. But be careful here! There could be another microsoft folder present as well, a good one. So make sure you don't delete that one! The one you have to delete, when you rightclick the folder and choose properties, it's dated 2006-06-09 15:05:06. Thats the bad one.

Do you know what next is? C:\Program Files\Cowabanga <== folder
Did you install this? I guess you didn't, since it has the same date/hour of malware related files being created. So in case you know it and are aware you installed it, leave it. In other case, delete that folder.

Then perform next:

Open notepad and copy and paste next present in the quotebox below in it:
(don't forget to copy and paste REGEDIT4)

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Fseytdc.Ariaqudok]

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Fseytdc.Ariaqudok.1]

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Fseytdc.Yvakt]

Hello,

Delete next file:

C:\Program Files\WindowsUpdate\medeci.html

Go to start > control panel > Display properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop... > Web tab > uncheck next and select delete + apply afterwards:

C:\Program Files\WindowsUpdate\medeci.html

Also uncheck and delete next if you didn't set it yourself:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\pogo.html and delete C:\Program Files\Common Files\pogo.html

Let me know if that solved the problem.
