I like to be able to completle format my windows 7 system and was wondering how i go about making a boot dvd that will alow ne to wipe my system and then reinstall windows 7

What computer model? Do you have the product key stickers and or is Windows still running with the computer?

 computer is

 Dell  Optiplex GX260

i HAVE WINDOWS 7 ON IT NOW

 and would like to give it a full format and start over

It seems your desktop model was made to run for Windows XP with reference to available drivers. Did you install Windows 7 by purchasing the Full retail Installer?
