Malwarebytes has not found anything, but every time I try to download ComboFix off this website, I get threat warnings

1 / Never use ComboFix unless you are Expert in the use of it .......

2 / Do not give your system details, but but ComboFix will not work on Windows 8.1, PLUS you need to Disable your Antivirus (as per directions)

Read Temporarily Disable your Antivirus
Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

You do need to read the given instructions .

ComboFix usage, Questions, Help? - Look here

Metagen and Win32 Malwaregen, (The identifying name of the ComboFix program)

I was updating Auslogics Duplicate File Finder today, and the official download link was flagged by Chrome (neither program is required), brings up an error from Avast! (see above)

So far there is NO Virus / Infection shown in your topic..

Just a conflict of someone using the wrong tools, without any instruction or knowledge of what they are doing.

...................................................................................................................................................................................................................

If you do need help, you MUST read and follow the directions below.

..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Please follow the instructions in This Prep Guide starting at Step 6.

Once the requested logs are created, then make a New Topic and post it to the =>> Malware Removal Experts Area <== Not back here.

Copy and Paste any logs created, (do not attach them unless requested) and include a brief description of your problem and what you have done to try to resolve them.
Please note that the area can get a bit busy, so you may need to wait a day or more for a reply.

NOTE - If you cannot produce any of the logs, then please create the new topic anyway. Do not run any more tools unless the experts request them.
