See this link. Are you running anything like a Diskeeper defrag program? Always be careful editing the registry. The problem is I can't say what will happen when the registry key is edited in Windows 8. What is the contents of the registry key shown in the link. You can export the key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager

and then copy and paste the contents in your next post.

Registry Cleaners are not advised by BC. They often cause more problems than help. Open the registry key in my previous post and export it. Copy the contents in your next post.

I would have expected to see autocheck autochk * under the BootExecute Value, not that hex value. I would have recommended changing the default to autocheck autochk * but with that HEX value shown I can't do that. I would wait and hopefully somebody with more experience on this registry key can answer your question. When you browse to that key, Click on Session Manager. BootExecute should be the second value down. What is shown to the right of Boot Execute?

Delete

autocheck ROBoot \??\C:\Windows\system32\ASOROSet.bin

Only keep the autocheck autochk * value under Bootexecute.
