(Last Paragraph First to cut to the chase)

Well, it's happened again, only this time, I followed these instructions (http://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-649414-windows-xp-won-t-work) for reformatting/programming the boot.ini file (?). I am able to enter all of the command line instructions, which seem pretty typical, as I've browsed around to solve this issue. The only problem is, when I proceed to the end of the instructions, and type 'Exit', XP does not Boot.
Any ideas?...

I have an old Gateway laptop, that continues to be a soldier, but from time to time, it crashes. When this happens, I get the blinking underscore in the top left corner of the screen... and that's typically my queue to wipe the hard-drive and reinstall Win XP Pro SP3, and LOSE Everything on the Harddrive.

Recently, I decided to try and prepare myself in case this happens again. I downloaded the Recovery Console exe from MS website, and burned it to a disk, waiting for the moment to have to put it to use.
