Hello,

I'm new to this forum, and I only have a limited knowledge of computers - so I'm sorry if I ask silly questions!

The problem is that when I came into work, I turned on my computer as always, and it did a strange scan before start up which I've never seen before, and to be honest, I didn't take much notice of what it scanned or what it had to say

After it had finished the 3 steps, the computer booted up as normal, and everything seemed fine, but I keep getting a pop up window, about every minute or less. Please see below.

oqbu4w.png

I downloaded Malwarebytes and did a scan but nothing has shown up.

I've found the file that the error message is referring too:

jfz3hw.png

But now I'm pretty stuck on what to do.

I've been looking into this pretty much all day, and I've found some people with the same problem, so I've tried to follow the steps of what people have said but I've only been able to get so far as the steps no longer can help me.

For example (from a post around 2013 that I tried to follow):

"Click on start menu and type

cmd

Right click on it and select run as administrator and run these commands

takeown /a /f  napinsp.dll

cacls napinsp.dll /g everyone:f

ren napinsp.dll napinsp.old

Now press Windows+R  key and type

C:\Windows\SysWOW64

and click ok

Copy napinsp.dll  and paste in c:\windowsystem32 folder

Reboot the PC and let me know if that helps"

It was all going so well, but then I couldn't find C:\Windows\SysWOW64. I've even ticked the boxes when I search to show hidden items, but I can't find it anywhere.

Can anybody else help?

I don't know if this will help either but here's a breif overview of the computer:

Windows & Home Premium

Processor: Intel® Celeron® CPU E3400 @ 2.60GHz   2.60GHz
System Type: 32-bit OS

Thanks

(Also please note, this is a work computer, and I don't work weekends, so anything that's suggested for me to do, if I don't get it done today, it'll have to wait until Monday - so please don't think I'm ignoring you :) )

Edit:

I'm still getting the same pop up message, but I'm also now getting another pop up message (see below) which is the same, but at top it says 'Clik4.exe'.

Clik 4 is a CRM database system we use and we've had it for about 2 years. Whenever we've had a problem we go to the tech guys at Clik Software, but as I feel this isn't to do solely with Clik I don't want to bother them!

ajrmz4.png

I'm now getting a mixture of both of these messages more constantly, about every 15 seconds.

I haven't had any different pop up messages appear for any other programs I am running at this moment in time.

I've now had the below message pop up while I've been trying to work, still with a mix of the 2 above, very frustrating.

(The red bit is our Client's name)

Thats odd, SFC is saying they are missing but we just put the files back. Lets see what SURT has to say:

Please follow the instructions Here to run the System Update Readiness Tool. When the SURT finishes installing, copy (Ctrl + C) and paste (Ctrl + V) the contents of the SURT log into your next post please:
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.persist.log
