So a few months ago I bought this brand new fancy gaming computer.

Everything was awesome and super lightning fast at first,

I did the first pile of windows updates on it, which was  A LOT of updates if I remember correctly.

After that I noticed my pc going from rebooting in 30 seconds before install, to 3 or 4 minutes after installing them.

This time gradually increased.

 

Windows 7 was pre installed.

 

 

So shortly after this I started getting bsods which claimed there was a memory leak.

Then came the hark disk failure popups.

 

And then came the horrid "Windows is not genuine" errors.

 

I called the place where the pc was shipped from and they told me it was probably a virus.

I know it's not a virus. I have never had issues like this before. I'm no genius and I could be wrong but I've been working with computers for many years and they last me 6 to 8 each years with no issues.

 

I had a feeling if I bought a custom build that this would happen, I should have went with my gut.

 

So I rearmd the pc which bought me 3 days time, but that did me no good because the pc was still freezing every 5 minutes and booting took forever.

I have system restored many times to the last working configuration.

I've ran a clean boot which seems to help for about 30 mins before the freezing starts again.

I've ran virus, malware, spyware scans and troubleshooters.

 

The place where i bought this pc finally did a team viewer connect and reactivated windows for me. This was lastnight and he said everything would be fine now.

 

Things seemed a lot better until an hour ago. Pc started to freeze again and another hard disk failure msg popped up.

So I ran a chkdsk. It completed but hung when it was restarting, I had to hold the power button downto reboot it. I don't know if there's anyway to pull those results up now. But I did see that there were 0 bad sectors right before it tried to reboot. Everything is taking forever to load, if it loads at all. when I right click it freezes, shutting down takes 30 mins sometimes and booting up takes up to 20 mins.

 

I've attached computer specs below and any help would be so much appreciated. Idk if its my video card or bios or hdd or what, but I am pretty much fed up. I work from the pc and I have lost a lot of work time due to this.

Hi and Welcome

I did the first pile of windows updates on it, which was  A LOT of updates if I remember correctly.

The above is correct as Windows 7 has been out for quite a long time and you were trying to catch up with a couple of years of updates.

 

Lets start with a few details -

 

Download Screen317 Security Check from Here or Here and save it to your Desktop.
 * Double-click SecurityCheck.exe
 * Follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
 * A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt
 * Please Copy and Paste the contents of that document.
NOTE 1:: If any security program requests permission to access the Internet, allow it to
NOTE. 2 If you receive UNSUPPORTED OPERATING SYSTEM! ABORTED! message, restart computer and Security Check should run

 

If the program will still not run, ignore it and move to the next step .........

 

Please download MiniToolBox  to desktop to run it.
 Checkmark the following boxes:

  • List content of Hosts
  • Flush DNS
  • Report IE Proxy Settings
  • Reset IE Proxy Settings
  • Report FF Proxy Settings
  • Reset FF Proxy Settings
  • List last 10 Event Viewer log
  • List Installed Programs
  • List Users, Partitions and Memory size

Note: When using "Reset FF Proxy Settings" option Firefox should be closed.
 Click Go and Copy / Paste the result. (result.txt)

Hi -

Have you removed Windows 7 SP1 ??
In your top post it shows that it is installed, but all of the other tests / scans, show that SP1 is not installed ?? This just seems - odd -

Windows is unable to verify the image integrity of the file \Device\HarddiskVolume2\Windows\System32\drivers\atikmdag.sys because file hash could not be found on the system. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged

Start with Run a Disk Check on your Main Hard Drive in Windows:
• Click Start and open Computer
• Right-click on C: (or your main Hard Drive letter) and select Properties
• Click on the Tools tab
• Under Error-checking click the Check Now... button
• Mark the 2 boxes next to Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors
• Click on the Start button
• When the message box pops up, click the Schedule disk check button and RESTART your computer
• Once your computer restarts it will check the drive, don't press any keys so that it is allowed to do so
NOTES : This can take from 1 to 2 hours (on average) to complete depending on your system, so let it continue
Do not Reboot during the scan, as you can (will) lose data from the system.
If this is a laptop, plug it into a reliable power source, as batteries do fail.
Once completed, the computer will reboot back to Normal Mode.

 

 

Now -

Go Start > Programs > Accessories > Right Click on Command Prompt, and select "Run as Administrator". < Important.

Type sfc /scannow and press Enter. Note the space between c and / as it must be there.

 

This will run a lot quicker (about 20 minutes) but follow the other NOTES listed above.

 

You do have some errors showing in your hard drive, and there is a chance that (if they are minor) this may help.

I really have no idea, but I haven't removed any updates, I don't if maybe that happened during a system restore or something (idk if that's possible) but no I never manually removed an update on this pc. Running disk check now.

No way - You say "Half Way", so it is stopped in the middle of Stage 3 ?? Is that correct -

The Checkdisk method I use is a direct way to run it off your HDD, and not via any command line.

 

I am starting to think that you were sold a fake system.

 

Do you know who actually sold you this unit, or was it from someone who knows someone type of sale ??

 

Is there a Sticker on it that you can read that has 5 sets of 5 alpha numeric keys like xxxxx - xxxxx - xxxxx - xxxxx - xxxxx (replace each x with a number or letter)

No, sorry for the confusion, When I posted that it was in stage 4     45,000/209,000 files processed.

 

 

Now it is still in stage 4     171,000/209,000 processed. But seems to be speeding up a tad.

 

I do have a 1tb hd. Idk if that makes a difference.

At this stage you can do a "Hard Shutdown, and restart" if you wish (press Start Button and hold it down for 5 seconds), as there is no important data after this area.

Areas 2 and 3 are more of a concern for a shutdown.

 

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
 Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
 To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
