My cpu is a HP g72 b66us laptop running on Windows 7. Recently my left or right speaker would randomly not work. If I plug in a plug and play speaker or headphones intho the headphone jack it plays audio no problem. Even now while I have no sound, if I play a media file or a youtube video my volume mixer will still show soun as playing but no audio..

To begin with the problem was rare and I was able to regain my sound after rebooting. Now it works very lightly but quickly goes away. I note in device manager under sound there are 2 seperate "High Definition Audio Device". I have done everything as far as uninstalling driver reinstalling, rolling back etc.

I can still get sound with a speaker but I don't want to shlep one around with my laptop.

Please help!
