I'm curious about the cause of this error in win 8.  My elderly mother (mid 70's) just purchased a brand new win 8 laptop which my brother (an engineer w/systems knowledge) setup for her.  She went to log in today and got that "failed to connect to group policy client service" etc.  Given this is maybe the 3rd time her laptop has been turned on how could she have corrupt win 8 system files already?  Could this be a bad win 8 installation that I should have her go back to store for assistance?  I've been looking for info on this and find a lot of issues w/same error going back many years but so far not much on solutions.  Thanks
