I ran an Image back up of my C: drive (using Windows 7 & an external usb drive) after getting warning messages that the Hard Disk was failing and to back up the drive.  I got a replacement 500 GB internal drive to restore the Image to and got as far as the Windows Login Screen after the Image Restore was complete and then automatically rebooted.  I typed my password in under my profile BUT, it was not accepted/ recognized... (I can't remember the exact wording) There are 2 profiles that come up, at that point, (just before going into Windows)...Mine, and my g-friends, whom, for whatever reason, WAS able to login to her profile  ...

Can anyone tell me how to bypass or fix this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I have an Acer Aspire 5750-6414, 500 GB, Serial ATA, and running  Windows7.

It's possible that because the hard drive was failing, your profile was corrupted and restoring the image still resulted in a corrupted profile. Try the following.

If you gf's account is admin then log into her account and change/clear the password of your account in "User Accounts" of control panel.

I would love to be able to do that ... but she's not admin.

Does anyone know if there is a way to bring up deleted profiles?

Or if there is a way to bring up the profile named 'ADMINISTRATOR'...?

You can do it offline using this method. Do not reset any passwords. Only enable the hidden Administrator Account as shown.

Here is a video of the process.

Edit: Before you do the above see if this works. I am not sure as she is not admin.

Type CMD in the search box Right click > Run as Administrator.

Type the following at the command prompt

net user administrator /active:yes

Does if give an access denied?
