Hey guys. Wondering if you could help me out here. I would like to install 12 R2 onto a desktop (HP Elitedesk 800 G1 with upgraded HDD and RAM). I wanted to check here and see if any of you guys have tried installing server on to a machine that has UEFI. I would think it would be possible, but wanted to double check before I dropped money to try it out. I know XP is not supported on these machines. My choice would have been a ProLiant, but the client wants to stick with a machine he has used before.

It's possible, but you might run into issues. Microsoft has a hotfix for it here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/975535

More details on how to install it are here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh290675%28v=ws.10%29.aspx
