I installed all but one update which failed (update # 2952664) and now my computer takes much longer to shut down, any ideas.

OK, update , i removed and reinstalled that update and it actually installed without issue but still no difference , somethings  very odd.

Try startup repair in Advanced Boot Menu by pressing F8 on early splash screen. Then use or proceed with system file checker.
