Quick question, where do people think the best source(as in website) for up to date computer security news is, somewhere that advises about how to protect yourself from new threats as well as merely saying what they are. Thanks
Back on this site, for a while anyway, been so busy the last year.

BC's General Security forum.

This forum can be used to discuss the latest threats and news in computer security.

And in the News subforum under General Topics.

But neither this security secton nor the news section here has really regular "news updates", or is it just that actually things don't happen much faster than this place makes posts about them?

Hello rp88:

Everyone has their favorites.

Try going to Brian Krebs' KrebsonSecurity and then scroll down about half way while looking on the right-hand side for "Blogroll" hotlinks for another good place to start.

Not all will be what you're looking for.

HTH :)

All viruses are malware but not all malware are viruses and if the malware doesn't self replicate it just isn't a virus.

I mainly use Twitter, and the diaries of the SANS' Internet Storm Center.
