Hi All

My IE desktop shortcuts no longer work unless IE is already open. If I click on a shortcut when IE is closed, the hand stays and the whole desktop freezes. I then have to Shut down using Task Manager and reboot. When doing so I get a message saying Windows cannot close Sysfader and I have to close it manually.

All other shortcuts work fine and I can open IE by clicking on the desktop icon. It appears that, for some reason, the web shortcuts cannot open IE.

I have IE6 sp2 with all patches installed.

Suspecting malware infiltration I have run the following progs in safe mode: Spyware Doctor, Ad Aware, XoftSpy, SpyBot SD. Checked I had the latest defs first. Spyware Blaster runs in the background. SpyBot discovered Vcodec e.media and fixed it.

Have tried creating new shortcuts but the same thing happens.

Thanks in advance for your help.
