Please explain what you mean by "via pc settings".

If this is a OEM (Dell, Gateway, HP, etc.) there should be a System Recovery partition on the hdd which will restore the operating system to the way it came out of the box.

What is the make and model of this computer.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

Do not update with the previous post, just answer the question in your next post.  If you only edit the post I will not receive notification of this as I do if you make another post.

Alright... it's a Dell, but what is the model.

You do not need to quote my posts.

You cannot reinstall the operating system via "charms",  you will need to use either a installation disc or flash drive loaded with the installation files.

To reset your PC
  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)

  2. Tap or click Update and recovery, and then tap or click Recovery.

  3. Under Remove everything and reinstall Windows, tap or click Get started.

  4. Follow the instructions on the screen

which is at  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc

Which one are you suggesting that you want to use, restore, refresh, or reset?

None of the will reinstall the operating system.  If you wipe the hdd you will need the installation disc in order to reinstall the operating system.
