I have a netbook with Win 7 Starter edition. Today I turned my unit on and after booting up all of my icons on my desktop were gone. There were a few "basic" ones but all the shortcuts I created were gone.

Also..... I cannot find Windows Explorer. I can see most of my folders going through My Computer but they are not the way I set them up.

*** Question 1 -- How can I get Explorer back? I even searched for it and it did not show up in the results. Is there a way to get explorer back?

*** Question 2 -- I don't know if this has anything to do with it but lots of my files and folders are listed as READ ONLY.

I tried doing a system restore.... And that didn't help.

Any suggestions as to what may have happened here? BTW.... I am the only person who uses my PC and I have no "guest" accounts.

Thanks in advance
