Hi,

I don't know my root password.

It is on my localhost, any suggestions to reset this, it is okay if I lose stuff.

Thank you,

M. de Jager

I have never had to do this but if you say its OK to lose stuff then why dont you just remove it and re-install it.

Im sure there would ahve to be a way to reset a password though, maybe even a little hack if you have physical access.

PS: 3 second google search found this.

Do you have MySQL installed as a separate service, or is it running under a package like XAMPP? Also, what operating system is this on? The instructions you'll need may vary based on this information, but otherwise the link JohnnyJammer provided should work with a vanilla MySQL setup. What step did you run into issues with specifically? Do you have any trouble in understanding the instructions, or did you run into an error?
