Hi, I am having to replace a hard drive for a Dell inspiron 6400 laptop as it is failing. I have found this :

320GB SATA LAPTOP HARD DRIVE FOR Dell Inspiron 6400 - BRAND NEW LAPTOP SATA H...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/320GB-SATA-LAPTOP-DRIVE-Inspiron/dp/B004PI7VNC/ref=lh_ni_t?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A212IY2BV832MR

and just wanted to make sure that it would be compatible?

Thank you.

If it's designed for this laptop, as it seems to be, you should be fine, in terms of fitting into the slot. However, I have found Dell laptops hard to reach into their internals (I believe this is done on purpose.)
