I've tried to back up my SGII to Kies 2 years ago to a Windows 7 Pro computer and it just wouldn't work. I've spent hours trying to find a suitable app to back it up with - that actually works. I tried Kies again last year and finally got it to work. I went to check it a few months later - and it's EMPTY.
So I try it one more time in August 2014. Miracle - it backed up everything and after I checked and double-checked it was all there. Went to retrieve some things in September 2014 and it's completely EMPTY...again! Is Kies a legitimate app, or is it some kind of sick joke?
Pics and docs have been strangely disappearing from my phone.

Edit: Moved topic from All Other Applications to the more appropriate forum.~ Animal

What is it exactly you're trying to backup? There are very likely other ways to accomplish what you may be trying to do without Kies. Seems Kies gives mixed results. I have heard some people think it's just perfect. Others have had similar experiences like yours. And even others think it's the second coming of Satan or worse. So it definitely falls into the YMMV category of backup software.

If you can give us an idea of just what you're trying to do. We may be able to help you with alternatives to Kies.
