I just lost my desk top and start menu short cuts while installing a plugin from internet. It was a flash supporting plugin. I don't know what happened after installation. Anyway, antivirus that I installed in my lap showed that Some malware found after it's installation.

I don't know what to do.......

Pleas, help me????????

From where did you download the flash support plugin? Have you tried checking to see if maybe the Show Desktop Icons option is selected?

1. Right click desktop

2. Select "View" and then "Show Desktop Icons"

3. Make sure it is checked sometimes after updates this option will get reset.

Is this the same computer you posted about in Am I Infected? That topic is here http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/550892/rockettab-infection-and-other-issues

It was split from another person's topic to start a new one.

Have you tried a System Restore to a time that precedes your problem?

I don't think I remember ever seeing a successful restore, not fixing an issue of that sort.

There must be something really funky going on with that machine.

I guess the only thing left to do is scan with malware and anti virus scanners until you get rid of that infection.

Since the same computer is involved in a current open Am I Infected topic which Boopme is helping in, this topic is closed to avoid confusion.

The first priority is malware removal, which may or may not be related to the issues described in this topic. From now on you should only follow the advice given to you by Boopme.

After your system is declared clean IF you still have the same problem with you desktop you can request that this one be unlocked by sending any moderator a private message.
