When i try to search for new updates on windows update i get this error code : 800F0900.

I have used MS Fix it and the system update readiness tool. Still error. Can anyone help?

I saw in a old post somebody used the CheckSUR.persist.log to fix it. I can upload mine if needed

Hi :welcome: to BleepingComputer,

Let's see what we can find...

9OoOKtajgSmoOAS611kOcmffOCc4Sw.png Check Windows System files integrity

  • open the Command Prompt as Administrator (Tutorial)
  • type the following command and press Enter:
    sfc /scannow
Note: This may take some time to finish.

if it doesn't say "No integrity violations found" them do this:
  • In the command prompt window, type or Copy & Paste the following:
    findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt"
  • Close the command prompt.
  • Attach to your post the sfcdetails.txt file that was just placed on your Desktop
  • You can safely delete the sfcdetails.txt file afterwards if you like

Check some windows critical services...

9OoOKtajgSmoOAS611kOcmffOCc4Sw.png Farbar Service Scanner (FSS)

Download Farbar Service Scanner and save the file to the Desktop.

  • Run FSS
  • Check all the options
  • click Scan

Post the generated log in your reply.

Hi,

  • Navigate to the following folder: C:\Windows\Logs
  • Right-click and on the CBS folder and select Copy.
  • Minimize all open windows and right-click on your Desktop, then select Paste.
  • Right-click on the CBS folder on your Desktop and select Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.
  • A file, CBS.zip should appear on your Desktop.

Hello,

The Windows Update Agent files are corrupt that would be the most likely reason why WIndows can not download any updates.

Fixing up these files will take about 20 minutes or so, to be able to fix up these files please read the following guide.

Hi,

Download this file it contains the files you need.

Run the WUFix-SoAnubis.exe and after this run the System update readiness tool again, attach the new log C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.persist.log

If windows gives you permission denied accessing the file copy the log to the Desktop first then attach.
