After I updated to windows 8.1 when I boot up my computer it won't turn on. It displays the dell boot up screen and the windows boot up screen then it goes black. When it's black I have to hit the power button then wait for it to sleep then hit the power button again then it turns back on and let's me in my screen. I just wanted to know if anyone knew how to fix this because it is agitating and I want to sell my computer and get a new one. So if anyone knows how to fix this i'm open for ideas.

Have you tried using the installation CD to do a startup repair?

Open Settings, then tap/click on Change PC Settings at the bottom of the page.
Tap/click on Update and recovery.
Tap/click on Recovery.
Tap/click on Restart now.
The Advanced Startup Options should open.
Tap/click on Troubleshoot
Tap/click on Automatic Repair
This will restart your computer and run the Startup Repair.
