hey guys and gals. Im on my dads work laptop to sort some things out for him and as i switched it on i notised the boot up time was very slow and it stuck on the blue "Welcome to windows" screen for quite some time. Also after boot up finished is took awhile to start up the series of programs. I plan to run Ewido and Norton internet security 2005 + adaware, But before i did i thought id better have the log checked

Nothing too concerning in the HijackThis log.

  • Once the ActiveX installs,Click Custom Scan and be sure the following are checked.
    • Scan whole System

    • Scan inside archives
    • Use advanced heuristics
  • Once the download completes, the scan will begin automatically.
  • The scan will take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan completes, click the I want to decide item by item button.
  • For each item found,Select Disinfect and Click Next
  • Click the Show Report button and Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Also, i keep gettign the message No sound card was found. If one is expected, you should install a sound driver provided by the hardware manufacturer.
on Dxdiag, and no mix drivers are found when i try to listen to music/access volume cntrol.

iv tried the whole check for hardware and also using action>check for changes on driver manager.

nothing seems to work, i also have no idea what the sound card is :/ lol

Thanks,

Jordan
