Need your help with update service error.

After uninstalling Avast I keep getting Search Module Update Service has encounted a proublem and need to close. How do I fix this Thanks in advance for your help. Willie T.

Less chance of getting junk bundled with the installer. I just have a personal bias with cnet, sofetpedia and the like. They are leaning heavily on ad supported downloads. I'm not saying thats going to be the case here. But I like to be cautious.
