One of my friends told me that Qihoo 360 IS is better than avast in terms of detection, and it has more features than avast free and it is also lightweight. Is it true?If Qihoo is better in terms of detection and protection,I will change it.So I decided to get sone expert's opinion about the Qihoo.Thank you.

As a personal preference, I use Avira AntiVirus Free.  Although I'm not familiar with Qihoo 360, it scored very well in the testing.

Would advise against switching, avast is well known, qihoo i have never heard of. I don't think it even appears on the list of tested products at http://www.av-test.org/en/ .
Back on this site, for a while anyway, been so busy the last year.

My systems:2 laptops, intel i3 processors, windows 8.1 installed on the hard-drive and linux mint 17.3 MATE installed to USB

Qihoo is a Chinese-based provider of free security and Anti-virus software (360 Total Security, 360 Internet Security, 360 Browser, 360 Security, 360 Mobile Safe, 360 Vault, etc). There has been a lot of controversy surrounding Qihoo to include it's reporting other anti-virus software and search tools as being malicious, deceptive marketing practices and various privacy issues.
