Hi,

I've got a Compaq Presario CQ61 with Windows 7 Home Premium installed on it.

Now, lately my computer's been causing me a lot of troubles, up to the point I'd like to set it back

to factory settings. Now, the computer's a couple of years old, and I do not have any disk of Windows,

nor the registration codes.

Do I need those to put the computer back to factory settings, or does my OS remain as it is today?

Greetings,

Narah

This is a snip of recovery directions for your Compaq model, taken from the user manual.

I'm glad it worked for you.

You can also make a set of recovery disks. They could come in handy in the future.

Find the users manual for your Compaq on the Compaq website. It will tell you how to create the disks.
