I get a seemingly random usb drivers disappearing from my computer! it can happen to anything from a mp3 player to a usb microphone or even a flash drive! I insert a usb device and it installs drivers like it's the first time I plugged it in!

I googled the problem but Google is being stupid and bolding the results for "drive" not "drivers" making hard drives/flash drives not showing up the only results

This seems to be a quirk of individual computers. Some computers I have access to go through the 'Installing drivers' every time you connect a USB drive, others merely bring up the Autoplay screen and others don't even bat an eyelid - connect a memory stick and there it is, in Windows Explorer. Yet they are all running the same OS.

I am going to be away until about the 22nd October. Time on-line will be reduced and my internet access may be limited. PMs may not be replied to as quickly as normal !
