Hello everyone,

I'm new here, I inherited a Dell Optiplex 620 from my work. It has Windows XP on it right now. I do online gaming, Runescape to be exact, I've been playing it on and off for year now haha. Anyways its laggy as crap on this thing... I was wondering what I can do to get it to play smoothly, I already up'd the ram to 3gbs and it didn't make much of a difference... So I'm stuck any help recommendations?

Could you follow this guide on how to publish a screenshot of your specs? http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/323892/publish-a-snapshot-using-speccy/#entry1797792

That way I can see exactly what you have. With such an old machine it might be hard to get the specs up to par with what these games need, but we can still take a look.

Unfortuneatly you have quite an old machine and while there are parts you could get to upgrade it, I wouldn't advise it, kind of like putting new speakers and nice rims on an old car that won't run for much longer. With that said, you could upgrade the processor to something like a Core 2 Quad (anything socket 775) and put a video card in it.
