Duke Energy sent out a notice they would be turning off our power twice at 10:00am this week and a third time if needed. We turned everything off for the two confirmed days. On the "maybe" day, we ignored it. Well, the power did get turned off and restored after a few minutes. Every individual computer, the server tower, the camera system, and the phone system are on battery backups. However, the wireless router, 16 port router, and modem are not. They are on surge protectors though.

And now, everything can connect to the internet and print ok. But no computer can properly communicate with the server tower. Opening a PDF file takes a few minutes. Opening anything large than 2mb is impossible.

I have reset everything. Powered down overnight. Nothing has changed this morning.

Our set up goes Modem-> Wireless/Wired router -> 16 port wired router -> all devices. Did one of these pieces of equipment fail? The network server can still access the internet and print. All other computers can still print as well. But it is near impossible to access any file on the server.

Any and all help appreciated.

What is the OS on the server tower? Actually, what OS's are we talking about? And I am assuming when you powered it down it was fine after you started it again? Is the internet slow?

Hope this helps thumbup.gif
