Hi am back again.

So now the PC keeps crashing with atikmpag.sys being the issue (according to whocrashed attached)

I have gone to download the latest drivers here

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy2&os=Windows%207%20-%2064

But it still persists in wanting the latest drivers? not sure what else  can do!

Other issues (Which I am hoping) are unrelated is that the networking on the pc doesn't work and the USB connection doesn't work. i think that it may have something to do with the registry but I haven't got a clue?

Hopefully you can help?

AMD drivers can be buggy like that. You might have to use a version prior to the newest one. Another thing you could try is uninstall the video drivers. Once that is done go to start and type devmgmt.msc, click on view and select show hidden devices. Now in the list below you should see Non-Plug and Play Drivers. Open that and see if you still have the amdkmdag in there. If you do right click the amdkmdag and choose uninstall. Reboot the system and reinstall the new drivers.

that sounds a bit complicated. urm if I uninstall the drivers wouldn't that mean that I won't be able to see the screen? & if that's not going to be an issue do I even need them? seem to be causing a lot of unnecessary grief!

also I noticed that before whocrashed said that the issue was dxgkrnl.sys

but now it seems to have changed it's mind. should I do something about that?

The fact that the problem pointed to dxgkml.sys initially...was indicative of a video/graphics problem...which often traces to the graphics drivers installed, which have become damaged.

The previous suggestion to uninstall the graphics drivers and then reinstall them...makes sense.

let me rephrase that.

I am not very good with computers.

How do you do that? How do i remove the amd drivers? nevermind. I guess i should follow this guide?

http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/GPU57RemoveOldGraphicsDrivers.aspx

I still don't understand why removing my display drivers will not effect my display?

Windows has default drivers which are used until other drivers are installed.  These are the same ones working when you go into safe mode.

Oh cool. could I just not use those instead? (the defult drivers?)

Well anyway I just finished doing this, have reinstalled (Clean installed) the AMD device drivers. (well the suite as I wasn't sure which ones i neeeded)

installed 13-9-legacy_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_whql

The system crashed inbetween.

Was running ESET online scanner (8 hours in) and it crashed, it had detected four possibly unwanted programs. so waiting to see what happens when that finnishes

Looks like the BSOD is still related to the video drivers. Not sure if you downloaded the correct ones. Heres a link  http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy2&os=Windows%207%20-%2064

Everything looks normal in speccy report. Cpu and temps normal. Voltage looks good. No HD problems. Video card temps look fine. Could upload your C:\Windows\Minidump file? I could take a look further into the BSOD.

AMD there for a while had many reports of people having issues with HD4000 to HD5000 video cards. Many of them cannot be resolved and seemed to get better in the later version 6800 or so on up. I came across an issue with a 5750 that would crash like that all the time. It too was a Saphire vendor card. I think you might have one of those lemons. Since the card had been replaced with a 7800 all problems vanished. You could try to an older version of the video drivers and see if that resolves the issue. I am leaning more towards the card itself.

Hi damn, so theirs nothing doing with the graphics card. & I'll need to replace it, could you recommend some. that are not expansive. Also where could I find old drivers from?

Could the graphic card not work with  just the default Windows drivers?

Is it possible for help on the networking issue? Was connected to a network drive. it stopped working for no apparent reason get this error code now.

Error code: 0x80070035
