I have an application that requires port forwarding for my iphone or android phone to connect to my phone system as a SIP extension.  I am using a Netgear FVS336G  Dual WAN Firewall/VPN appliance to forward the ports.  I have created services that include the port range & whether TCP or UDP trafic, I have then forwarded these services to the LAN IP addresses required using WAN 1 (CableLynx)  & WAN2 (AT&T MIS).  Using the port checker at yougetsignal.com, I find that some of the ports are opened on WAN 1, but none of the ports are opened on WAN2.  I have requested several times that the ISP's open the ports & they both insist that the ports are not blocked.  Is there a difference between blocked & not opened?  I have requested that even though they have not "blocked" The ports, check to make sure that they are opened for inbound traffic. Same responseHow do I find where that are blocked & how do I get them opened.  My application is dead in the water till I can get this accomplished.  Any ideas.  Also, my background is telecom & I was dragged kicking & screaming into the data world.  Not so bad, but certainly different.
