My son has a gaming pc which had been running fine. a month ago the hard drive failed after the PC over heated  so had new one fitted - 4 days later the power unit blew - he had a 450w one fitted which then blew after 2 days - the pc guy took it back and fitted a 750w power unit which blew again after  about 2 days... the pc guy is getting really nasty about it and says there is nothing wrong with it to make it blow!!!!! and this is the last time he is replacing the power unit. he mentioned that something in his room may be making it short out but he is using the plug the pc was plugged into and everything is fine.  any ideas why this keeps happening anyone. we need to get to the bottom of it.  thanks you guys x

I would look into a UPS unit that provides power conditioning.  I would guess that there are issues with the power, either the ground is faulty or the supply power is dirty.  A UPS will help with dirty power and identify a ground issue.
