It started with firefox not starting but getting error message- "Failed to read configuration file. Please contact system administrator."  Then same thing with other programs, including security programs which almost disappear.Lots of odd things happening... A malware scan said I had the WIN:win/32 or win/32 trojan. Can't find any legit removal tools and nothing I've tried works,is it this trojan or is something else wrong? I just about out of ideas.

I'm running XP sp3.

System restore not helping.Ran most types of anti-malware programs to no avail...

I would be happy to get Firefox working again for a start, and hopefully not lose my bookmarks.
