Programs crash when attempting to print win xp

everytime i try to print my program crashes, it can be internet explorer, firefox, wordpad, etc. It happens when i click print. I have winxp and an hp deskjet 1000

In general, the first step to take when you suffer printing problems like this is to completely uninstall your printer software - all of it - and re-install. If you don't have the printer drivers to hand you can almost certainly download them from HP. HP tend to support things virtually for ever so you shouldn't have a problem getting them.


While you are at it, download the quick install guide. Printers are notoriously fussy about the installation sequence, and it matters !
