When I booted up today, the Found New Hardware Wizard popped up to install a RAID Controller. The problem is, I didn't install a RAID Controller.

Okay, what did you install?
Any chance you where in the bios?
That wouldn't pop-up by itself without a little help.

I haven't installed any new hardware since I built the computer about a month ago.

No, I wasn't in the BIOS. What would that do, just out of cusiosity?

Doesn't have to be hardware. Could of been a driver or even a software install.
If booted up without the message one day, then the next day you got the message, it's something that was installed that day. (the day before the message popped up)

Actually, I installed "The Gimp 2," a photo editor for those of you who don't know. Would this cause the problem? What should I do?

I found out that my dad was messing around in the BIOS.

Also when I boot up, it gives me a CMOS messege that says my date and time are incorrect. After Windows boots I have to reset the time and date manually because half of my programs won't work without correct date and time.

How do I fix this?

You need to enter the BIOS 'set up' and adjust the time and date. This is done by hitting a certain keyboard key at boot up. Usually the 'del' key, but it can also be the F1 or F2 key depending upon the BIOS. Often instructions on how to enter 'set up' will flash on the screen at boot up.

If, on the other hand, your date and time always set themselves to midnight, Jan 1, then that means your BIOS battery on the motherboard is getting low and needs to be replaced. It is a silver disk shaped battery, and a new one can be purchased at a computer store for just a few dollars.
