Hi! Youtube was working fine up until a few months ago, now, whenever I click on videos on Youtube, they begin loading as normal, but eventually instead of the video appearing onscreen, it just goes right to the "error" message. I tried clearing Firefox's cache, and that seemed to work for one video, but everytime I've done it since it hasn't worked.

Plus, other, similar video sites still work.

I have a PC with XP and dial-up internet.

Thanks, I'll try those things! But one question: will uninstalling Firefox that way erase my History and Bookmarks?

When I download the Flash installer and double-click it, nothing happens. I see "flashinstaller" appear in the Task Manager, but then it just disappears, and nothing happens.

hi faye raye

first try to delete any previous flash player and try to delete as well any remaining traces like folders and registry entries

then try to install again your flash player

download the k-lite codec pack (audio and video codecs)

if you decide to delete your firefox make a back up for all your bookmarks (export bookmarks)

also, you can try another good web browser maxthon3

i am working with maxthon for almost two years now

Hello there,

Have you tried reinstalling Firefox and see if the problem still persists?

Hope this helps!

I tried unistalling and reinstalling Flash, but it didn't work.

i can't completely uninstall Firefox because I'm running on XP, and Internet Explorer doesn't work anymore, and I won't have a browser at all. That's why I also wanted to ask you, do I need to install Flash Player 10 if I don't use IE?

You would need to download a newer version first or the offline installer. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ and secondly, your internet speed is not basically enough to cover online videos loading/buffering times.

How can you tell? And does that mean some videos just won't load, no matter what I do?

Are you in service pack 3? Have you tried other light browsers such as Opera?

Okay. There isn't anything else I could try for Firefox?

What's the result of using a different browser? What do you mean of Firefox?

Sorry for the delay in response. I tried both browsers. SlimBrowser didn't work. The first video I tried on Opera worked, but not the rest I tried. However, even though the videos would be on the black error screen, the timer was still progressing on the bottom, and I could hear the video's audio. This happens with some videos on Firefox, too, I just didn't notice before.
