Since there is no longer any support for xp is it okay to use my cdkey again on windows xp in a virtualbox? Or would both my windows end up being shutdown for using same key.

The second installation would not activate. XP is not free now, just not security supported... MS wants people to move away from it.

As noted above..."not supported" is not synonymous with "we give it away" or "it's no longer our property".  No support just means that MS isn't going to waste any more time trying to perfect/improve a product it considers no longer pertinent to its future plans.

If your XP is a retail version, not OEM, and you do not have it running on another computer, then you can use the key in Virtual Box.
