Computer tries to power on but fails.

I just finished putting together my computer but it tries to power on then fails.

I am sure that I have made the connections properly.

Please help me!

Specs:

Asus P5QL-E MOTHERBOARD

Intel CORE 2 Quad Q9300

NVIDIA GEFORCE 384 MB

4 GB DDR2 OCZ RAM

PEAK OUTPUT 300 WATT DELTA ELECTRONICS PSU

INTEL COOLING FAN

80 GB SAMSUNG HARD DRIVE

Not with absolute certainty, but your PSU would be the very first component I would suspect.

 

From page 57 of the user manual: we recommend that you use a power supply unit (PSU) that complies with ATX 12 V Specification 2.0 (or later version) and provides a minimum power of 400 W. Do not forget to connect the 4-pin/8pin EATX12V power plug; otherwise, the system will not boot.

I never make the same mistake twice....I always make it 5 or 6 times just to be sure!
