G'day farts and Welcome to BC.

When you select the "Clean" button in AdwareCleaner it will quarantine the items found.

You can then use the PC to see if everything is ok, and if its behavior is normal.

Be aware that other malware present may give you an insecure feeling, so other scans /removal may be necessary.

If you then open AdwCleaner and select Uninstall, it will delete the program and the contents of the quarantine

I would be most interested to see the results of some other scans and knowing what problem/s you are experiencing .

Thank you. The reason why I scanned with ADWCleaner is because my laptop has been lagging and freezing lately, and coincidentally today a trojan finally gets detected by AVG. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware has been blocking svchost.exe, which is what AVG finally detects after days and days of poor computer performance. I've started another topic here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/546814/trojan-horse-droppergeneric2anggdropper-svchostexe/

On a side-note, are you sure ADWCleaner will quarantine those items when I hit "Clean"? It warns to uncheck what I don't want deleted.

Well done ! for starting a topic in the MRL area.

The experts there will take care of things for you.

Seeing you have the topic opened there and the dds scan reflects the presence of AdwCleaner in its current state.....Do not change anything. Leave it as is.

The Expert who handles your topic will advise you.

To answer your question....Yes, I am quite sure that AdwCleaner does quarantine items when the Clean button is hit.....just as i am equally sure it deletes them when the uninstall button is hit !

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the MRT Team members are EXTREMELY busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the MRT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another MRT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

Please be patient. It may take several days to get a response but your log will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible.  I advise checking your topic once a day for responses as the e-mail notification system is unreliable.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.

Your log(s) is posted here.

Now that your log is posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a Malware Response Team member...nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show in the log(s) you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the member assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process or make things worst which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the Malware Response Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take several days to get a response because the Malware Response Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have posted your log and are waiting, please DO NOT "bump" your post or make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the Malware Response Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another Malware Response Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, please follow Step One and CLICK the link so it will report your topic to the team members.

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic.

Good luck with your log.
