I have an issue with my new ADATA UE700 (64 GB) USB thumb drive. Whenever I connect it and attempt almost any writing to it, it will almost always and almost immediately disconnect before more than a handful of files have been written on it, before automatically reconnecting. This renders almost any real usage of it impossible. I have already checked for any driver/firmware downloads, but the website claims no particular downloads are needed – just plug and use.

I have no USB2.0 ports to test with, and all my USB3.0 ports & drivers are up-to-date. I’m running Windows 8.1 Pro (x64) on a brand-new Asus G750JZ-DB73 with all available updates from Windows Update and the Asus support page installed.

Please advise. Thanks.

EDIT: Just to mention, the problem happens with all 4 USB ports on both this machine (Asus G750JZ) and my older laptop (Toshiba Satellite P70-A). Additionally, I have another USB3.0 thumb drive (Lexar JumpDrive S73 [16 GB]) which works perfectly well with all USB ports on both machines.

Send it back for a refund or replacement. I know if you bought it through Amazon you have 30 days for a complete refund.
