Unless I misunderstand that, you have a combo drive.
You can burn pics to cd's or dvd's, doesn't matter.
All newer dvd players read cd's as well. If it's a home dvd player, check the documentation as to what image format it supports. Jpeg is most common.

Ok as far as i can understand i have a cd burner and a dvd player. I thought when i bought this thing in dec. that it was a dvd burner and a cd burner but apparently if it says dvd/cd burner then it is a cd burner and a dvd player i guess it must say burner after each peace so i have a cd burner and a dvd player if that makes it clearer

As far as the documantation for the home dvd player ? i will look for it :flowers:

But i was wondering if i could burn a pic with a cd burner. i would try it but i only have one pic and i do not want to wast the cd. if i burn a pic on it now can i put another one one the same cd later? :trumpet:

Sure.

Absolutely. Just don't finalize the cd. You want to create a multi-session cd.
If you need help with that, post the burning software you will be using.

OK currmac.
I'm not familiar with NTI but somewhere along the process you should see some tabs\options or something that will allow you to keep the cd open. The terminology differs from different software makers but does the same thing. Terms like "multisession", "leave target cd open", etc, are what you're are looking for.
What you don't want to do is "finalize" until the cd is complete.
Below is just a couple of example pics from Nero to give you an idea of what to look for.
