Thank you for reading this ..

HP Compaq running windows 7 ultimate , unable to connect to wireless internet.

Red X "not connected no connections" on bottom right corner for wireless connections.

The only thing showing in device manager in network adapters is NVIDA nForce Networking Controller. Nothing Else. I did update it .

Broadcom 802.11 folder with all its parts is showing in my program files only.

I went to broadcom site and downloaded a new broadcom 802.11

I unistalled broadcome and installed the one.

rebooted and still no change. Red X

I pinged computer 127.0.0.1 4packets sent and 4 received.

I went into regedit and see the broad com installed but not other extension files.

I see no files for wireless connection,

I have not installed anything new ,

I was online and rebooted and when windows opened my wireless was gone.

I do not have the sysem restore option as I messed up and created a new restore

point, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much ..

Welcome,

[forgive an old man]

Is the wireless feature turned on? If I remember the HP it's a keypress to get the little blue light glowing.

Keep us posted

What is the security setup on the router?

Have you tried to establish a wireless connection with it and provided the username and password that are on the router?

Keep us posted

Try going to a system restore point to before this loss happened.
