If you are using your tablet through the same internet connection, then your connection to the web is good. And the wireless unit on your computer is speaking to the router, according to your OP.

This only leaves one area as far as I can see, and that is your firewall. Are you sure that your firewall is allowing your browser(s) to access the internet ?

'Charms - Settings - Control panel - Windows firewall' and have a look at the firewall settings. If you can't find 'Control panel' type 'Control' into the search box and it should be the first item in the list.

Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > make sure "Automatic Detect Settings" is check marked.

If that's not it, go to Control Panel > Network & Sharing Center >  Change Adapter Settings > Right click on your connected adapter, be it wireless or LAN, and go to Properties > Internet Protocol 4 > Make sure IP and DNS are on Auto. Alternately, you can leave IP on Auto and insert DNS numbers
