Hello, I have a HP Pavilion g6 laptop with Windows 8. It was purchased in 2012. I recently picked up something and the whole computer came to almost a screeching halt. The keyboard will intermittently stop working and the mouse will also act up.  I ran Spybot, Malwarebytes, Super anti spyware, Adware cleaner, Junk remover, Avast, and Avira. None of these fixed the problem. So at the recommendation of someone, I ran Combofix. That was before I came here and read "Don't Run Combo Fix". Well, after I ran it, the laptop seemed to be in good running order for a couple of days. Friday, I turned on the laptop and I immediately started getting popups that look like a Google web browser. I can click them off and they come back about every 30 seconds. I don't even have to have an internet connection to get the popups. If I down size the popup instead of clicking it off, I can work around it. The keyboard and mouse still act up.

Thanks

Scott

G'day haywired and Welcome to BC.

Give this a run please...

1. Go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel or Programs and Features if using Vista/Windows 7/8. From within Add/Remove Programs look for anything that appears to match the name/s of your popups and select Remove.

2. Open your browser and disable (uncheck) all extensions. Make a list, then one by one, re-enable each extension to see if the pop-ups start appearing again with that particular extension. Once you identify the responsible extension...permanently remove it but let me know which one it was so I can update the above list.
