I am trying to clean the tons of malware off of a friend's computer. Kaspersky found mem.rootkit.win64.tdss and rootkit.boot.pihar.c along with a lot of other stuff. It "fixed" them and rebooted. Of course, the computer will not boot now - it gets to the windows loading screen then reboots. I downloaded a bootable AVG and ran it twice - it froze at about 79% each time but I let it clean the hundred files it found. I saw somewhere that these viruses create a small partition that boots first. Someone used GParted to reset the larger partition to active. However, once I got into the software I could not figure out how to do this. Then I found this forum where someone had the Pihar.c and you guys helped them. I followed those instructions and downloaded and ran the Farbar software and have attached those logs. Can someone please help?
