You will need to install the driver for it. You can get it here. Provide a junk email address and name. Click on the HDD icon after you click the download link on the right.

I was going to edit my previous post because I think you would need to install this software in addition to the driver but you can contact the company to confirm it.

OK i just bought this thing off AMAzon. I have the BioExcess software and I can get the reader to work but then it crashes. I have only used the drivers that came with it. I have been reading that there night be other dirvers but I dont want to download anything to my computer that is unsafe.

What it the OS? You can contact the company directly and they should provide you with the driver if it is updated. I read that the device does not work with Windows 8.1

I have sent an email to them. I have Windows 7 Business. It will work for a few tries and then it crashes. Its very frustrating.

Sorry, I can't help further.  Hopefully the company support will get the problem solved.  If not, I would ask Amazon for a refund. They are fairly good at doing it if you are not satisfied with the product.

Well I only paid 13.00 for it and it came from CHINA. So I might get burned for it. Maybe it will work if I keep messing with it.
