My DVD drawer keeps opening and closing.

Uninstalling the driver seems to fix it on the short term but it automatically reinstalls.

Try updating the driver instead of uninstalling it.

It could be the case that some program you have running is trying to access the DVD drive for some reason. Open up Task Manager and see what applications are running. You may have to go through a clean boot process to determine what programs might be tring to do that. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

It could also be a mechanical problem. It may need to be replaced.
