Sorry I do not know the name of what is messing with my computer. I am running on Vista 64

My virus protection went down and I get an error saying I need admin privledges.

I get errors when I try to run ESET (says I dont have some DLL file) and when I run combofix it says I dont have permisssion. I am also getting svchost errors.

Since trying to fix the computer I have run a number of things, ccleaner, junkware removal tool, farbar recovery scan tool,adwcleaner---and I even ran a official microsoft, windows tool to scan for missing files--that is in adition to ESET and combofix.

All I have managed to accomplish is a BSOD and an unresponsive computer. I had to remove the battery and unplug everything to even get it to boot up.

I am going to attach the requested files, log into windows safe mode and copy the steps you had given to another poster with the same exact problems.

Thank you for your help, I think i have attached what I need to, please let me know if I missed anything.

One more thing I would like to mention that I find really odd and have never had happen before.

I can run ccleaner over and over again and I will always have files to delete. I can wait 20 mins and not use the computer and there will be a bigger log file.
Just now I cleaned out 340mb---99 percent of which was from Internet explorer. I don't use internet explorer and no one has this computer but me all day long.

If I run CCleaner in safe mode, repeatedly, it will always have a 16kb file from IE to clean. It will be there repeatedly. But, go back to windows normal mode and over and over again it will do what I described above.

CCleaner now doesn't find stuff to clean after repeated usage like it was before.
One of the programs that was in msconfig is no longer there after running Eset Online in Safemode.

However, I was unable to install eset nod32, eset gave a warning that this might be due to malware. I installed a special scanner and it found no more malware.
I restarted, since restart I am still unable to run virus protection or combo fix. Says I don't have admin privledges.

I am now all out of ideas as to how to fix this, I need this communities help.

Here is the latest dds notes

step2.gifIf you still need help, I would like you to post a Reply to this topic (click the "Add Reply" button in the lower right hand of this page). In that reply, please include the following information:

  • If you have not done so already, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.
  • A new DDS log. For your convenience, you will find the instructions for generating these logs repeated at the bottom of this post.
    • Please do this even if you have previously posted logs for us.
    • If you were unable to produce the logs originally please try once more.
    • If you are unable to create a log please provide detailed information about your installed Windows Operating System including the Version, Edition and if it is a 32bit or a 64bit system.
    • If you are unsure about any of these characteristics just post what you can and we will guide you.
  • Please tell us if you have your original Windows CD/DVD available.
  • Upon completing the above steps and posting a reply, another staff member will review your topic and do their best to resolve your issues.

Thank you for your patience, and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan again:

  • Download DDS by sUBs from the following link if you no longer have it available and save it to your destop.

    DDS.com Download Link
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explanation about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control can be found HERE.

As I am just a silly little program running on the BleepingComputer.com servers, please do not send me private messages as I do not know how to read and reply to them! Thanks!
